In this course at UWA, you'll complete professionally endorsed translation training between English and one of eight Asian and European languages.
Taught by practitioners and translation researchers, the course is approved by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), making you eligible to apply for the prestigious NAATI certification as an Advanced Professional or Professional Translator.
Fostering critical thinking, linguistic and analytical skills through frontier translation theories and the latest technologies as well as the opportunity for individual supervision of a translation research project, the Master of Translation Studies also offers the flexibility of taking either the coursework-only pathway or the coursework and dissertation pathway, should you plan to progress to a PhD in Translation Studies.
Teaching takes place in small classes so as to accompany each student along their personal learning journey.
Designed for graduates pursuing bilingual and multilingual careers, this course helps you develop a competitive edge and the ability to thrive in an increasingly globalised job market.
As a result of strong collaboration links with local and national professional organisations and agencies, students are offered practical skills development on a regular basis.
