Bachelor of Psychology, Criminology and Justice at ECU is designed for students who wish to pursue further study in the area of psychology, criminology, or justice, or those who wish to be employed within the criminal justice system.

The course equips students with skills in analysing, researching behaviour and explaining interactions between people and their environment.

Course learning outcomes

  1. Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and technical discipline situations.
  2. Think critically to analyse, interpret and conceptualise/synthesise complex psychology, criminology and justice knowledge/problems.
  3. Think creatively to anticipate challenges and generate solutions and responses relevant to psychology, criminology and justice.

The Academic English Program (AEP) is designed for students who plan to study at an Australian university or who are interested in developing academic reading, writing, listening and communication skills. 

  • Taught in 10-week terms, with possible start dates every five weeks.
  • Focuses on a mixture of communication skills and academic study skills
  • With a minimum of 65%, you will be able to graduate to the next AEP level or to your designated course.
  • No further English testing is required (except for Nursing and other higher English course requirements).
  • Leads into Diploma, Foundation and PQP programs at ECC and various degree programs at ECU.

If you've completed a Certificate IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma at a recognized Australian education provider, this may also help you meet minimum entry requirements for an undergraduate course.

Pathway providers

A Diploma from ECC is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree at Edith Cowan University.

It aims to prepare international students for further study in an ECC Diploma or for entry into the first year of a selected Edith Cowan University bachelor’s degree.

A minimum of 50% pass in all units is required for progression to ECU.
