Bachelor of Construction Management

The Bachelor of Construction Management at the University of Adelaide is a program of study that students undertake to develop project management skills with a focus on the application of technology in construction. 

The program is designed and structured to provide career and management-ready graduates for the construction and infrastructure industries.

Students will acquire a sound foundation of knowledge in civil construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and engineering construction management. 

The program offers a compact structure that covers essential knowledge and skills in construction, project management and BIM with a strong focus on applying technology in construction and management techniques specific to the construction industry.

Co-developed with industry, it features an emphasis on real-world experience, with an internship providing 456 hours of work-based training and industry internship opportunities embedded into the program during 3rd year.

You’ll develop skills in applying and using:
 

  • new and emerging technology, including digital engineering tools and automation technologies (Industry 4.0)
  • civil engineering principles and technology in real-world construction contexts
  • construction project and people management, including legal requirements
  • systems thinking, building science and economics principles
  • sustainability principles to design more eco-friendly construction processes
  • effective interpersonal communication, and critical thinking.
