Graduates of Bachelor of Education (Secondary) course at ECU will have the flexibility to take up employment in both private and government secondary schools.
A central feature of this course is the range of professional practice experiences Pre-Service Teachers undertake throughout their training.
This provides valuable and diverse employability skills and enables them to connect theory to practice.
Mathematics Education equips students with the skills and knowledge to teach Years 7 to 12 Mathematics.
Emphasis is given to inquiry-based tasks, co-operative group work and whole class discussions, to ensure effective learning and teaching practices in secondary Mathematics.
Some of the general education units and other specialised minor units may be delivered at the ML ECU campus.
Students are provided numerous opportunities to make the connection between theory and practice, through professional experiences.

All applicants are required to demonstrate satisfactory performance in Mathematics Methods, with equivalents considered.

A Diploma from ECC is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree at Edith Cowan University.
It aims to prepare international students for further study in an ECC Diploma or for entry into the first year of a selected Edith Cowan University bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of 50% pass in all units is required for progression to ECU.
