Bachelor of Commerce

In Macquarie’s Bachelor of Commerce, you’ll study extensive and integrated foundation units that will orient you to commerce and business, followed by one or two majors to develop depth and specialisation in your chosen discipline. 

If you haven't yet decided on your major, you can begin your studies without selecting one.

Academic background and requirement

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications:

  • A recognised senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification
  • A recognised university Foundation course
  • A recognised 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
  • At least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution

Assumed knowledge

  • For business analytics, economics, finance majors: HSC Mathematics Advanced or equivalent. For accounting, business information systems, cyber security governance, human resource management, international business, marketing, and marketing insights and analytics majors: HSC Mathematics Standard 2 or equivalent.

If you don't have the assumed knowledge, you're advised to include a mathematics or quantitative methods elective unit in your first year of study.

Recommended studies

For accounting, business information systems majors: HSC Mathematics Advanced or equivalent.

For finance major: HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or equivalent.
