Bachelor of Information Technology

The world is undergoing an information explosion, and at the same time, business is becoming more competitive. 

People with the skills to help businesses and society innovate are in demand.

In Macquarie’s Bachelor of Information Technology, you’ll acquire foundational skills in programming, data storage and modelling, networking and cybersecurity.

You’ll develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills from information technology, such as software design and construction, applied data modelling and analysis, or security problem detection and mitigation.

You will also learn how to apply that knowledge to solve real-world problems.

You’ll learn how to relate your knowledge and skills in information technology to a broader societal context and make sound decisions regarding ethical and security concerns.

Academic background and requirement

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications:

  • A recognised senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification
  • A recognised university Foundation course
  • A recognised 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
  • At least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution
