Overview

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Leadership

Prepare for a highly sought-after role as an early childhood educator with strong leadership acumen through the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Leadership program at Victoria University.

This program at  Victoria University equips you with the skills to teach children in their early years, from birth to age five.

It provides insights into facilitating effective transitions to school.

With a focus on Aboriginal perspectives, you'll gain expertise in various critical areas, including play, child psychology and development, early childhood history and philosophy, and social constructions of childhood.

Additionally, you'll explore family, community, and international contexts, teaching methodologies, education and curriculum design, leadership and policy in early childhood, and early childhood professional practice.

In the fourth year, the program emphasises leadership, ethics, and advocacy.

First Year students will complete their studies at the City Tower campus, and In-Person delivery at Footscray Nicholson campus will be available from Year 2.

Early-childhood workplace experience:

As part of your course, you will undertake several placements so that you graduate with the practical skills needed to succeed.

VU offers 80 days of supervised teaching experience.
