The Bachelor of Performance and Theatre at UOW is an intensive, practice-based course that inspires and prepares you for a career in the performing arts and broader creative industries.
UOW staff are industry-based practitioners passionate about helping performers reach their artistic potential.
Undertaking the Acting major will see you develop as a self-reliant and highly skilled performer.
You will learn to apply acting skills and theoretical knowledge to contemporary performance and theatre.
Subjects cover rigorous actor training, crafting your acting, voice, singing, movement, and performance-making skills.
You will perform in multiple full-length public productions in purpose-built and state-of-the-art theatres on campus.
You will learn script and devising processes from industry-trained professional directors.
Through this hands-on and practical course, you will mature as an actor as you experience a range of methodologies and theatre genres.

Applicants must have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to completing 13 years of schooling in Australia.
It is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications to succeed in this course.
Entry into the Bachelor of Performance and Theatre (Acting) is based on academic results and audition scores.
You will be required to audition to demonstrate your talent and potential to benefit from the course.
You will be invited to register for an audition as part of the application process.
