Overview

Bachelor of Sport

The Bachelor of Sport is designed for students passionate about sports and exercise and explores their role in teaching, coaching, and healthy lifestyles.

This degree will equip you with the work-ready skills and knowledge to engage with various sporting environments, including coaching, game development, sports management and operations, and sports program delivery. 

You will pair these studies with a major or minor, allowing you to shape a unique sports career based on your strengths and interests.

This is a popular course at UOW undertaken by Global Sports Program students.

What you will study

You will study a core foundation of subjects in human movement, coaching, physiology, and the pedagogy of educating in health and sports contexts. 

Throughout your studies, you will study several career-ready learning subjects to help you identify and pursue career goals and opportunities, including internships. 

You will also combine these studies with a major from various options and disciplines, supplementing and enhancing your learning. 

Majors can be selected from those available under the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Science, and Bachelor of Business.

Academic background and requirement

Applicants must have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to completing 13 years of schooling in Australia.

To succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications.

This is particularly important for degrees with a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.
