Information and systems security is becoming increasingly important for everyday life. We want technology to protect our digital information, such as:
IDs, assets and data security, and to secure email and online privacy for individuals, homes, families and offices.
They design methods and tools and write programs for computer applications.
These applications can cover computer systems to control machinery, information management, and big data.
Additionally, they involve applications for mobile devices, stock market trend analysis, game design, visualisation of chemical reactions, neural network design, computational geometry for robot navigation, patient monitoring in hospitals, and much more.
You’ll also complete a final-year capstone team project at the UoW.
You can also study a double degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Creative Arts or Business.
The Digital Systems Security major focuses on the theoretical and practical applications of information and digital security across various subjects, including operating systems security, physical security, file and data protection, and heterogeneous computing.
It also covers systems architecture, cryptography and its secure applications, and network and telecommunications security.
In your final year, you will develop your application as part of an annual student team project, developing solutions to real-world problems provided by the industry partners.

Applicants must have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to completing 13 years of schooling in Australia.
To succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications.
This is particularly important for degrees with a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.
