Utilise sophisticated mathematical and statistical modelling to solve real-world problems and gain an edge over your competition with the Master of Mathematical Sciences (Financial Mathematics) at UOW.
You will develop the practical skills necessary to be a leader in formulating, implementing and evaluating the models used to structure transactions, manage risk and construct investment strategies.
The Master of Mathematical Sciences (Financial Mathematics) will equip you with a range of analytic, modelling, statistical and computational skills that can be applied directly to the financial sector and the broader business landscape.
In your first year, you will study core preparation and foundational subjects in areas such as multivariate and vector calculus, differential equations, statistical inference and model building, and managerial finance.
From your second year, you will also study advanced topics and investigations in these areas and have the opportunity to complete cross-disciplinary subjects in other fields where mathematics and statistics are critical, such as engineering, health, and computer science.
You will also complete a research or coursework-focused capstone subject.
