Students have the opportunity to undertake preparation for work units and/or internship units as electives in this course through either the Faculty of Arts and Education or the School of Psychology.
There are options for WIL and study tours across many SHSS courses.
Independent research components are embedded across several units.

You will take the Placement Test before the start of your course.
If you're currently studying Year 12 or completed Year 12 in the last two years, you will need to meet all the following criteria to be considered for admission to this degree:
Year 12 prerequisite subjects
Complete foundation studies and/or a diploma program at Deakin College or at one of Deakin's TAFE partners.
Australian Foundation Program: 65%
Note: Equivalent to an Australian Year 12 certificate.
The Deakin College Foundation Program is equivalent to upper secondary school (Year 12) and university foundation programs.
It aims to prepare you for further study in a Deakin College Diploma or entry into the first year of a selected Deakin University bachelor's degree.
