As Deakin's Bachelor of Health Sciences graduate, you can be confident you will have a solid grounding in various health-related fields.
To complete the Bachelor of Health Sciences, students must attain 24 credit points.
The 24 credit points include 6 core units (these are compulsory) and 2 major sequences of the following list from the Faculty of Health; a maximum of 8 credit points may be selected from units offered by other faculties.

Work-integrated learning is incorporated within this course, allowing students to engage with industry and complete various authentic tasks.
Students have the option to complete a 120-hour field education placement unit (HSH303 Health Practicum) that allows them to transfer their knowledge and skills to a practical setting, where they can further their learning through realistic field experience.
The degree includes two core units that offer research-related study, HBS108 and HSH219. HBS108 Health Information and Data provides the basic skills for consumers and health research information providers.

You will take the Placement Test before the start of your course.
If you're currently studying Year 12 or completed Year 12 in the last two years, you will need to meet all the following criteria to be considered for admission to this degree:
Year 12 prerequisite subjects
Complete foundation studies and/or a diploma program at Deakin College or one of Deakin's TAFE partners.
Australian Foundation Program: 65%
Note: Equivalent to an Australian Year 12 certificate.
The Deakin College Foundation Program is equivalent to upper secondary school (Year 12) and university foundation programs.
It aims to prepare you for further study in a Deakin College Diploma or entry into the first year of a selected Deakin University bachelor's degree.
The Diploma of Health Sciences can gain you direct entry into the second year of Deakin University bachelor's degrees in Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Nutrition Science, Psychological Science, Public Health and Health Promotion, and Biomedical Science.
