The course at ECU is designed to produce future teachers ready to enter the Primary education profession.
This program is built on the principle that students come to the program with strengths from a diverse range of educational and life experiences.
In the final semester, students have the opportunity to undertake one specialisation unit in an area of the primary curriculum.
This enables students to obtain a deeper and broader level of knowledge and understanding in a particular learning area at the graduate level while maintaining generalist knowledge.
The range and number of professional practice experiences are a key feature of the course.
This ensures students can make the essential connection between theory and practice whilst building both professional and generic skills in real teaching environments.
Central to this course is an extensive program of Professional Experience in schools culminating in a final Teaching Practicum in the final semester of the course.
