This course at QUT is designed with the flexibility to suit your passion for justice by drawing upon a range of areas across criminology, policing, policy, governance, intelligence, sociology, law, psychology and ethics.
Policy and Politics major will empower you to change the legal and justice systems and support and help the vulnerable.
You will explore the most recent theory and practice of social justice and understand topics like the power of people and protest.
In the first year, you will study core units to explore a range of subjects that will help you decide on what to specialise in.
Build a solid foundation and learn about the criminal justice system, forensic psychology, deviance and social justice, and justice research methods.
You will then begin to specialise in your chosen major, with the ability to select from a wide range of justice-optional units.
Later in your degree, you can take on a work placement, embark on an international study tour, or embed yourself in an Indigenous justice-focused organisation.
