Overview

Honours Bachelor of Digital Journalism

The Honours Bachelor of Digital Journalism at the University of Ottawa equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving media landscape.

The program blends traditional journalism principles with cutting-edge digital practices, including multimedia storytelling, data journalism, and social media engagement.

Students gain hands-on experience through internships, learning to produce compelling content across various digital platforms.

Emphasizing ethical reporting and critical thinking, the curriculum prepares graduates for dynamic careers in news organizations, digital media companies, and beyond.

With access to state-of-the-art facilities and experienced faculty, students are well-prepared to navigate and shape the future of journalism.

Joint program with Algonquin College.

There are two ways to fulfill the degree requirements.

Start by completing 60 credits (four semesters) in the Honours bachelor's degree at the University of Ottawa and then transfer to Algonquin College to complete the journalism diploma or vice versa.

Students obtain both an Honours BA and a College Diploma after 4 years.
