Overview

Bachelor of Business Administration

The Faculty of Business offers a four-year program (equally accessible to part-time students) leading to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of New Brunswick

The objectives of the program are:

  • To provide all students with a solid basic understanding of the fundamental human, physical and conceptual relationships that underlie the organization and management of profit and non-profit organizations;
  • To provide individual students with an opportunity to study, in greater depth, those areas of business they find most interesting;
  • To allow students to obtain the breadth of background in the Arts and Sciences required to appreciate the environment in which organizations must function;
  • And above all, to develop problem-solving abilities and flexibility in students to help them cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing society.

The Faculty of Business offers a 4-year Cooperative Education option within the BBA program.

Consistent with the philosophy of Cooperative education, the program is designed to alternate study and meaningful work terms.

The number of positions is limited and, therefore, restricted to students with a B- average or higher after their first year. However, students may apply for the Co-op program during their second semester.

Co-op students must also maintain a B- GPA or higher throughout their academic terms.

Students can choose a Major after their study commences at Saint John:

Accounting, Economics, Human Resources Management, Digital Business Design, Marketing, French Communication and Culture

Academic background and requirement

Students must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice.

UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student’s "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.

For students who are taking required courses in the second semester of grade 12, and therefore don’t have access to their grades when they apply, the prerequisite course (usually grade 11) will be used to make a grade estimate for the grade 12 course required for admission to your selected program of study.

Please note that UNB does not accept 'mid-term' grades.
