The need for civil engineers has never been greater in a rapidly changing world.
With a strong focus on disaster resilience and management, this course at QUT will teach you how to design safe, economical and environmentally sound infrastructure for the community and adapt our cities and structures to meet environmental challenges.
You’ll develop your skills in the advanced engineering labs, learning from experienced engineers who are leaders in their fields.
You’ll then apply what you learn through exclusive work placements and projects with leading companies such as Arup, BMD, Jacobs, and QUT's government partners.
Choose a second major or a double degree in Architecture, Business or Urban Development and graduate with a diverse portfolio of skills that will maximise your career opportunities.
QUT is the only university in Queensland that offers a double degree in Architecture and Engineering.
You’ll graduate with an internationally recognised Honours qualification from one of the top 100 universities in the world for civil and structural engineering.
Work Integrated Learning
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is embedded in the curriculum and is a core component for all engineering students.
WIL allows you to graduate with a portfolio of professional skills that provides evidence of your professional competencies.
You must undertake 60 days of approved work experience in the engineering environment as part of your work integrated learning.
