Bachelor of Business (Advertising)

Advertising plays an influential role in the growth of a business. 

If you’re looking for a rewarding career that’s results-driven and holds no creative boundaries, then consider a degree in advertising. 

The way QUT consumes media and information is continuously evolving, and so is its course. 

Taught by leading industry professionals, QUT's teaching staff work alongside industry partners to ensure its content is current and up to industry standard. 

In this course, you will work on real-world projects, engage with industry professionals from day one and be academically eligible for professional recognition upon graduation.

Graduates who complete the advertising major will meet the entry requirements for membership at the Media Federation of Australia and Advertising Council Australia. 

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil)

Civil engineers plan, design, construct, operate and maintain various structures and facilities that benefit society—from roads and busways to bridges and buildings. 

They are also involved in assessing the impact of projects on the natural and social environment. 

Civil engineers are responsible for producing the community's safe, economical, and environmentally sound infrastructure.

Work integrated learning

You must undertake 60 days of approved work experience in the engineering environment as part of your work integrated learning.

Academic background and requirement

Satisfactory completion of Year 12 in an Australian school system or equivalent.

Subject prerequisites

  • Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

India:

  • Senior/Higher Secondary School Certificate/Pre-University certificate from QUT recognised state education boards with an overall average of 75% in the best five academic subjects.
  • Indian School Certificate academic stream awarded by CISCE with an overall average of 60% in the best five academic subjects.
  • All India Senior School Certificate academic stream awarded by CBSE with an overall average of 60% in the best five academic subjects.

China: 

  • GAOKAO 60% in best 4 academic subjects.
     

Iran:

  • Before 2020: Pre-University Certificate with a grade average of 15 on a 20-point scale.
  • From 2020: National High School Diploma/Secondary School Leaving Certificate with a grade average of 15 on a 20-point scale in the final year (Grade 12).

Intensive Program:

When you have completed this course and met the faculty progression requirements, you will be guaranteed a place in the first year of your chosen bachelor's degree.

There are four foundation streams to choose from, each with 4 units.

You will be allocated to the streams based on your selected Bachelor's degree course and progression requirements (i.e. degree course pre-requisites).
