In this course at QUT, you will work intensively on writing in several forms, including novels, short stories, creative non-fiction, memoir, genre writing, and poetry.
You will develop comprehensive editing skills as well as self-editing skills.
You will learn about and engage with local writing contexts and enter contemporary debates around ideas illuminating and challenging what people write and how they write it.
You will learn to think and write critically about texts. You will learn how to engage readers through emotional storytelling.
You will progress towards a major piece of creative writing in a form and genre of your choice at the end of your degree and work on team projects with creatives from other disciplines throughout your degree.

Satisfactory completion of Year 12 in an Australian school system or equivalent.
When you have completed this course and met the faculty progression requirements, you will be guaranteed a place in the first year of your chosen bachelor's degree.
There are four foundation streams to choose from, each with 4 units.
You will be allocated to the streams based on your selected Bachelor's degree course and progression requirements (i.e. degree course pre-requisites).
