Master of Engineering (Management)

The Master of Engineering (Management) is designed to equip you with the leadership skills you need to develop and maintain an agile, profitable business with a strong focus on innovation in today’s market.

Learn how to develop a commercial proposal to win a major project, design a strategic business plan to improve organizational productivity, or enhance competitive advantage in a rapidly changing technological environment. 

You’ll develop skills and expertise in areas including:

  • managing innovation and change management
  • strategy development for national and global markets
  • development of customer-orientated organizations
  • agile management and adaptive leadership
  • effective problem solving
  • challenging established practices and norms
  • business model development for organization growth
  • technology management

RMIT facilitates work integrated learning, You'll be assessed on professional work in a workplace setting (real or simulated) and receive feedback from those involved in industry or research. 

The Master's Research Project involves WIL through an industry relevant project or through a research-intensive project.

Multiple campuses

Most projects in the Master's Research Project course are based at the Melbourne city campus. Some projects, for example, with laboratory activities, may require travel to the Bundoora campus. 

Industry based projects can be done in industry with agreed arrangement between the project supervisor, the company and the student.

Note: You will not need to pay any application fee but some of African countries will need to deposit of AU$100 application fee.

Academic background and requirement

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or international equivalent) in one of the following fields: Engineering, Technology, Business or Science with a GPA of at least 2.0 (60 - 69%) out of 4.0.

Applicants who have a successfully completed a relevant degree (as above) with a GPA of at least 1.5 out of 4, will be considered if they have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

OR

Successful completion of an Australian postgraduate qualification (or international equivalent) in a related discipline (as above).

OR

Applicants without any relevant prior qualification will be considered if they have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.

International qualifications are assessed for comparability to Australian qualifications according to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Some applicants may be eligible for exemptions. Approved exemptions may change the duration of their study in the program.
