Analytics is the science and art of analyzing data to make better informed decisions. It builds on the tradition of statistics and operations research, bringing together tools and expertise from computer science, engineering and business.
This blend of disciplines makes analytics unique in its capacity to solve critical real world problems.
You will learn how to use data to make informed decisions that make significant contributions to the success of organizations, which provides a rewarding and valued career path.
This degree allows you to choose from a diverse range of electives combined with a strong core of statistics and operations research.
With seven core subjects and nine electives, the curriculum includes a high degree of flexibility. You can specialize in computer science, economics, finance, logistics or marketing or gain a broader understanding of all fields.
Problem-based and work-integrated learning are a major focus, and exposure to industry projects provide you with hands-on experience to develop your analytic capabilities.
You also will have the opportunity to apply for placements or internships and have them count towards the program in the second year.
Industry connections
The program focuses on providing you with analytics experience and work-integrated learning (WIL).
State-of-the-art statistical software used in the program will provide you with hands-on-experience required for analytical practice.

You must have successfully completed:
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline.
You may also be considered if you have at least 10 years of work experience in:
analytics, statistics, operations research, economics, finance, logistics, marketing, supply chain management, engineering (management), information technologies, information security, computer science or a relevant discipline.
