Western Sydney University Advanced Medical Science degree allows all the flexibility of the Medical Science degree and is designed for high-achieving students who want to extend themselves.
This challenging program includes advanced work, extension activities and additional research training.
You will be linked to experienced researchers and mentored throughout the Advanced Medical Science program.
This degree is exclusively for high-achieving students and will continually challenge you to improve and build on your academic success.
Students in the Advanced degree program are automatically enrolled in The Academy, which offers interdisciplinary leadership programs, professional development and local and international internship and engagement opportunities for students.
Students are required to complete eight specialisation subjects from one of the following testamur majors after their study commences:

English Language Entrance Test
The English Language Entrance test is an internal test for entry to The College and Western Sydney University programs only.
Academic English For Tertiary Studies
This program is designed for students with English as a second language who want to develop their language skills.
Each of the five English Academic Programs (EAPs) is taught over 10 weeks and includes 20 hours of face-to-face classroom time per week.

Assumed Knowledge: Students should have at least two units of English, two units of science (any science), and two units of mathematics at year 12 equivalent.
Minimum ATAR of 90. Students must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above to continue their course enrollment.
If this GPA is not maintained, they will be automatically transferred into the standard program after one warning (one semester of further study).
Students in other WSU science courses who achieve a GPA of 5.0 or greater at the end of their first year of study may be admitted into the Advanced Medical Science program by invitation if sufficient places are available.
