What you can study in Italian

You can take language courses at every level and learn to speak, read and write Italian. At Stages II and III there are opportunities to study at universities in Italy. The university encourages you to study abroad.

You can also study Italian society and culture, contemporary literature and film, and medieval and Renaissance literature and culture. While most courses involve the study of texts in Italian, others are based on material in English and may be taken if you are not studying the language.

Structuring your major in Italian

You can take a major in Italian as one of your two BA majors (a double major). You will need to pass at least 120 points (eight courses) towards each of your majors, including at least 45 points (three courses) at Stage III.

You can meet undergraduate English-language requirements by successfully completing:
1_ The Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP), or
2_ The English Pathway for Undergraduate Studies (EPUS).


Academic background and requirement

country or region not listed: You need to have one of the following:

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.
  • Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). You must have completed a minimum of three A-level subjects.

India: You need to have one of the following:

  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 75% in the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC), Indian School Certificate (ISC), Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal State Board Examinations with a minimum of 70%t in English.
  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 80% in all other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations with a minimum of 75% in English.

China:

  • The National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) otherwise known as Gaokao. (Have a high school diploma or equivalent, Be in good health…)
