Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing

Pursue a flexible business degree and gain strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Choose from 12 majors and complete a single or double major programme. A wide range of conjoint options are available.

The real-world skills, knowledge and experience you will gain, along with the programme’s world-class accreditation and strong links to industry, will see you thrive in any industry you choose.

What can you study in Marketing?

You can study Marketing as a single major or as a double major alongside one of the other majors offered within the Bachelor of Commerce. (These include International Business or Management.)

You can also study towards the Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing as part of a conjoint degree programme. (In a conjoint programme, you study for two degrees at once, attaining the qualification in a shorter time than it would take to complete the two programmes separately.)

In the Marketing major you will learn how to respond to and satisfy customer needs through product and service development, planning, pricing, advertising, promotion and distribution. You will:

  1. Learn about fundamental marketing concepts and theories
  2. Identify the characteristics of responsible and sustainable marketing practice
  3. Understand the importance of marketing to business practice
  4. Understand how to evaluate consumer needs when developing marketing strategies
  5. Learn to apply consumer insights and market research
  6. Develop skills to assess real world marketing situations and marketing strategies

Programme structure

In your second year you’ll engage in a Business Consulting core course. In your third year, you’ll choose a capstone core course – select from an industry-based project, a business simulation, a live business case or an internship.
