Graduates are prepared to write the required National Council Licensure Examination and become Registered Nurses.

The Bachelor of Nursing degree is designed to meet the accreditation requirements of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing, the body that establishes and promotes national standards of excellence for nursing education in Canada.

Nursing education at Mount Royal University prepares students to meet the entry-level competencies necessary to be knowledgeable, skilled and competent to practise nursing safely and ethically.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Language pathway (conditional offer) is available

The Language Education for Academic Purposes (LEAP) with four levels program is for low Intermediate to advanced level English language learners. 

The recommended minimum language level for student success is CLB 4 or an IELTS score of 3.5.

You can complete this 15-month program in four 13-week terms starting in either fall, winter, or spring.


Academic background and requirement

  • English Language Arts 30-1 - minimum grade 60%
  • Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2 - minimum grade 60%
  • Biology 30 - minimum grade 60%
  • Chemistry 30 - minimum grade 60%
  • High School Applicant: must present a minimum admission average of 70%, calculated on the five appropriate Grade 12 courses. Must also present the required courses and minimum grades listed above.
  • Mature Applicant: must present a minimum admission average of 70%, calculated on the four required Grade 12 courses. Must also present the required courses and minimum grades listed above.
  • Post-secondary applicant: must present a minimum admission Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on the eight most recently completed transferable post-secondary courses (minimum 24 credits) completed by June 30. Must also present the required courses and minimum grades listed above.
