Bachelor of Communication - Journalism and Digital Media

Tell stories that change the world. 

Learn how to produce and publish stories, ranging from investigative reports to sports, entertainment, science and human rights coverage. 

Blending theory and practice, you will gain new skills in reporting, interviewing, videography, photography, writing, editing, digital design, podcasting and online delivery. Rooted in mastering digital technologies, such as Adobe Creative Suite and using DSLR and video cameras, you will graduate with the skills employers seek in media and communications fields.

Language pathway (conditional offer) is available

The Language Education for Academic Purposes (LEAP) with four levels program is for low Intermediate to advanced level English language learners. 

The recommended minimum language level for student success is CLB 4 or an IELTS score of 3.5.

You can complete this 15-month program in four 13-week terms starting in either fall, winter or spring.


Academic background and requirement

Applicants in all admission categories must present:

  • English Language Arts 30-1 - 60%
  • Social Studies 30-1 or Aboriginal Studies 30 - minimum grade 50%
  • Post-secondary applicant: must present a minimum admission Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 on the eight most recently completed transferable post-secondary courses (minimum 24 credits) completed by June 30. Must also present the required courses and minimum grades listed above.
