Overview

Bachelor of Design - illustration

In the Illustration program, you will learn how to produce images that complement the written word or stand on their own.

You’ll be encouraged to express your individual artistic voice, while examining the world we live in.

The work of illustrators can be seen in many places such as:

  • Magazines
  • Books
  • Newspapers
  • Murals
  • Advertisements
  • Posters
  • Packaging
  • Merchandise
  • Comics and graphic novels
  • Websites
  • Concept art
  • Interactive design

You will work closely with faculty and practicing illustrators in traditional and digital techniques. This program will help you grasp communication art, while also learning the business skills required to work as independent freelancers.

If your English language test scores meet the minimum listed below by March 2021 you are eligible to register for EAD: Preparation. Upon successfully completing the EAD: Preparation program students will be eligible to take EAD: Bridge To First Year to satisfy OCAD U's English language requirements to enter the first year of your undergraduate degree in September. Students must submit official scores to the Admissions & Recruitment Office at ugadmissions@ocadu.ca.
