Overview

Advanced Diploma in Business Administration - Management

The Business Administration - Management (BAM) program At Conestoga College is designed for students whose career goals include business management, self-employment or entrepreneurial ventures.

The variety of courses in this program will provide students with a big-picture understanding of all major areas of business (finance and accounting, marketing and sales, human resource management and supply chain and operations), competitive skills and forward-thinking for today’s evolving workforce.

This program helps students develop their skills as management generalists, offering maximum flexibility in their career choices.

Students gain an understanding of the theory and skills needed for the practical applications of modern management techniques used in various corporate, government and non-profit entities and small business ventures.

Students in the BAM program gain exposure to real-life working environments through various innovative structured activities.

These may include research projects, guest speakers, consulting projects with local industry, mentoring opportunities, plant tours, computer simulations, cases, reflective exercises and role-playing.

Students who graduate from this program with an overall average of 70% or more are eligible for entry into Year 3 of the four-year International Business Management degree program.

All program graduates will qualify to obtain the C.I.M. (Certified in Management) designation offered by Chartered Managers Canada.

Additionally, students will complete four of the nine required courses for the CHRP designation (Certified Human Resource Professional).

Students can complete the remaining required courses through part-time studies.

Applicants holding the McDonald's Management Development Program designation may apply for credit toward this program.

The program has three intakes: Fall, Winter (accelerated) and Spring (accelerated), and can be completed in as little as 2 years.

While the college offers the program at both the Doon and Guelph campuses, it kindly reminds students that the College may choose to move Year 3 of the program offering in Guelph to the Doon campus if student numbers warrant it.
