Conestoga’s one-year graduate certificate in Broadcasting Performance and Digital Media is the program to kickstart your online presence. 

You will learn how to shoot and edit high-quality video content, write engaging copy, and confidently perform on and off camera. 

This program is geared to open opportunities for storytellers and content creators of all types and interests. 

Building on your past education, business experience, or hobby, you will create an online presence that includes a website, video series and engaging social media posts leading to opportunities as a vlogger, podcaster or influencer. 

Taught by faculty with direct industry experience, courses in research, interviewing, on-camera performance, and storytelling gives you the skills to work as a multi-media journalist or news anchor. 

This program is delivered from Conestoga’s state-of-the-art radio and television studios in a hands-on environment and teaches you how to set up a home studio, increasing your opportunities for employment upon graduation. 

You will also learn what it takes to start your own business as a sole proprietor when to incorporate, and how to generate leads as a freelancer.

Conestoga offers a language program for students whose English language skills are below the standard required for admission but have met all other admission criteria.

You will be eligible for admission to the degree program after completing level 4 of the General Arts and Science - English Language Studies (ELS) program with an overall grade average of 80% and no grade less than 75%

Your placement in the ELS program is determined by scores on an in-house English language test or TOEFL or IELTS.

Academic background and requirement

  • A two- or three-year diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university OR a minimum of five years of related full-time formal work experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with degrees in communications, English, political science, journalism, public relations, and general arts and science programs where coursework includes marketing and communications.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with diplomas in marketing, advertising, public relations, event management, and journalism.
