Overview

Diploma in Golf and Club Management (Co-op)

Fanshawe's Golf and Club Management program is designed to teach you everything you need to know for a career in the ever-expanding golf and recreational club industry.

Learning in the golf management program isn’t just confined to the classroom. As part of the co-op modified schedule, you’ll enter the club industry at peak season and work alongside seasoned veterans to supplement your golf club manager training. Through the multifaceted curriculum, your classroom learning is complemented by hands-on experience achieved in the co-op portion of the golf management program, and you’ll graduate with a well-rounded, employable skill set for golf courses in Ontario and around the world.

Golf Management program highlights include:

  • Graduates have the opportunity to earn an additional credential by transferring into the Business diploma program. Upon completion of the Business diploma, graduates then have the opportunity to apply into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce - Management degree program.
  • Learning how to operate a successful club (focused on golf or other recreational activities);
  • Acquiring hands-on experience managing landscaping and equipment issues;
  • Learning about key issues like human resources, membership management and accounting; and
  • Gaining knowledge in retail management and food and beverage facilities

Co-op experience:

As a golf management program co-op student, you’ll receive an additional course to help you prepare a cover letter, resume and improve your interview skills. You’ll also be assigned a personal co-op consultant to help with the job search, connect with employers, monitor your co-op experience and work with your employer to assess your goals. Our co-op students have worked locally, nationally and internationally.
