Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Co-op) is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program with a paid co-op component.
Students will combine hands-on industrial training with academic studies at Fanshawe College to prepare for a management or leadership position in the manufacturing industry.
Graduates will be able to interpret product design drawings, develop and implement a production process, and provide manufacturing and quality control standards.
And by choosing the co-op stream of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, your two paid work terms will impress future employers.
Refining your people skills is a major focus of the program.
You'll also learn how to interpret product design drawings, develop and implement a production process, and apply manufacturing and quality control standards as a certified quality engineer.
And, in addition to technical skills, you'll learn business skills such as accounting, production cost estimating, statistical analysis, operations and resource management and customer service in the pursuit of your operations management certification.
As a co-operative program, the student will spend four months in a related work experience in the industry.
Industrial relations, advanced quality principles and project management are emphasized, since the graduate will need to be 'people oriented', being part of, and leading teams in an industrial setting.
