Applied Aerospace Manufacturing is a one-year graduate program for students with previous knowledge who want to gain the skills required for a career in aircraft maintenance and repair.
Students at Fanshawe College will learn the use of aircraft maintenance tools, assembly, and structural analysis techniques.
The curriculum is designed around the standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry (AS9100) to prepare graduates for a work environment that adheres to that system's requirements.
Practical elements of aerospace manufacturing skills, work-environment readiness, safety management systems, materials handling, and tooling will be the focus of this Graduate Certificate.
The program will be delivered in a face-to-face (web-facilitated) format.
This program enables the understanding of different Aerospace systems and operations of the aircraft along with the applicable airworthiness Standards and Regulations (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA).
In the final term, students work on real-life Aerospace Case Studies to produce an optimum solution to streamline production.
The students experience hands-on use of aircraft maintenance tools, assembly & structural analysis techniques, and troubleshooting & installation of avionic systems.
They are also given extensive training on CATIA - an aerospace design software (used by Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, etc.), to design new aerospace parts and perform reverse engineering on existing certified parts.
This program is designed for students having an Engineering background.
