Applied Mechanical Design is a one-year Ontario college graduate certificate program. The program is designed for students to build on their previous education in engineering.
Students will learn the skills required to work in the mechanical design and manufacturing sector through a combination of in-class learning, labs, and hands-on experiential learning.
This graduate certificate program is designed to enhance and build on the theoretical knowledge gained from studies in mechanical engineering.
It provides students with training in finite element analysis, geometric tolerancing, and computer-aided design (CAD) with a focus on fast, inexpensive, and quality design.
Topics related to metrology, industrial communication, quality systems, and design guidelines will be reviewed.
An applied capstone project will provide students with the opportunity to design, implement and manage real-world solutions using skills in industrial communications, supervision, project management, and documentation.
