Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Infrastructure

The Information Technology Infrastructure one-year graduate program is beneficial for students who have previous education in IT and are looking to advance their skills to prepare for the workforce.

This program is designed to help graduate students with an IT background step into the industry. Information technology workers need a broad range of practical skills to utilize in their everyday responsibilities. 

As a student in this program, you will bring your previous understanding of information technology and enhance your skills by learning how you can apply your knowledge within the workforce. 

Graduate employability is significantly enhanced by in-depth training in a broad range of technical and personable skills that are in high demand across various industries. 

The Information Technology Infrastructure Ontario College Graduate Certificate at Fanshawe College will focus on the practices and skills currently being used in support of the IT infrastructure. 

Students will gain valued knowledge and experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems, Windows server administration, virtualization technologies, and network and security devices

Students will also have the opportunity to develop communication, interpersonal, project management, and business skills to work effectively in the corporate world.

The program will include hands-on applications and simulations to provide students with marketable skills in operating systems, networks, and security and will contribute to preparing the graduate to write a variety of professional certification exams.

Fanshawe's 10-level EAP program is certified by Languages Canada and meets the language requirements for admission to Western University, Fanshawe, and many other Ontario colleges. 

The EAP program and full-time professors will help you to gain confidence and fluency in using English as well as help you prepare for your next steps using the latest methods and technology.

Academic background and requirement

Ontario College Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree or equivalent preferably in Information Technology (other academic backgrounds considered on a case-by-case basis)
OR
Equivalent combination of related work experience and post-secondary education as judged by the College

  • Processor: 64-bit Multicore Intel® w/ Intel-VT  or 64-bit Multicore AMD with AMD-V support
  • Memory: 16GB Minimum
  • Optical Drive: DVD Multi Dual Layer or external USB Optical Drive (Optional)
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise, Pro, or Education 1
  • Hard Disk Drive: Any Hard Drive 2
  • Communication devices:
    • Wireless (802.11a/b/g/n compliant)
    • Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps with standard RJ45 jack
  • USB Ports: 2 x USB 3.0 ports (additional USB 2.0 ports optional)

1 Apple OSX is not fully supported in certain applications. Users may need to boot camp their Apple computers. Windows 10 is available free of charge for all Fanshawe Students. Chromebooks are not supported.
