Graduate Certificate - Wireless Information Networking

Networks, and increasingly wireless networks, are becoming the hub of commercial and industrial development across the world as people understand and experience the benefits of wireless networking for day-to-day functions.

This intensive, unique Graduate Certificate program at Fleming College reflects the latest developments in WIN and relies heavily on applied teaching approaches. 

It focuses on the design, planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of wireless networks, and will cover a wide range of topics including:

  • cloud computing
  • server technology
  • technical project management throughout technology life cycles
  • technology as a service - preventing network-wide service outages
  • domestic vs. commercial/industrial needs
  • data mining
  • wireless LAN and WAN setup, security and troubleshooting
  • embedded wireless sensor network programming

Option 1:

Successful completion of Level 8, in Fleming College’s English Language Bridge (ELB) Program.

  • Diploma/Certificates require 70% grade in Level 8
  • Pharmacy Technician and Post Graduate Certificate require 80% grade in Level 8

There are 8 levels of English skill development. Each level is 8 weeks in length and each week consists of 23 hours of instructor-led classes as well as tutoring and experiential learning opportunities. 

The English as a Second Language Bridge (ELB) program integrates the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills needed to succeed in a post-secondary environment.

Option 2:

MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students applying to Wireless Information Networking must meet the following requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or Ontario College diploma in a related field or equivalent

Applicants who do not meet the requirements listed above and who possess a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered on an individual basis.

Students are required to have their own computer, internet access, webcam and microphone.

Some required software applications are not available for MAC OS or Chromebook.

The computer must be a virtual machine capable. No tablets or Chromebooks for lab work.
