Advanced Diploma - Dental Technology

Preparing graduates to work as dental technologists for over 20 years. 

This program at George Brown College is unique in Ontario.

Students in the Dental Technology program will develop the specialized skills of a dental technologist, including designing and fabricating various oral devices prescribed to a patient by a regulated dental practitioner (often a dentist). 

Throughout this program, you will learn to make a range of dental appliances, such as: 

  • full dentures
  • partial dentures
  • crowns
  • bridges
  • implant-related restorations
  • orthodontic appliances
  • other specialty items

Academic background and requirement

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • grade 12 English (C or U)
  • grade 11 math (M or U) or grade 12 (C or U)
  • grade 11 biology (C or U) or grade 12 (U); or grade 11 Physics (U) or grade 12 (C or U); or grade 11 chemistry (U) or grade 12 (C or U).
  • A minimum grade of 70 per cent is required in English, mathematics and science (biology preferred) courses.
  • Attending an information session is strongly recommended.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is strongly recommended.

 

China:

  • Minimum grade of 60% (especially in English and Math)
  • Minimum grade of C in required subjects

 

India:

  • Graduated from senior secondary school
  • Minimum overall of 60% in 10th and 12th Grade for all streams
  • Minimum overall of 50% in English in 10th and 12th Grade
  • 12th passing scores in English and Math. If no 12th Math, 50% in 10th Math is required.

 

Iran:

  • Minimum scores of 50% (10 out of 20) in English, Math, and required courses.
