The Master of Engineering at CQUniversity has a strong emphasis on engineering practice.
It allows you to develop professional skills such as teamwork and communication while applying and further developing the theoretical knowledge you gained in your undergraduate study.
This course makes you recognised as a graduate professional engineer in Australia.
You will have career opportunities in many areas, including the infrastructure, resources and energy sectors.
This course begins with an introduction to Australian engineering practice and three project units, providing the opportunity to apply discipline knowledge and skills in an authentic project, in some cases with an industry mentor, and will help to prepare you for engineering practice.
You will have the choice to develop your knowledge and skills in traditional engineering disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
You will then select four units from topics including sustainability, mining, project management and rail.
Depending on your career aspirations, you may also choose to pursue an internship to improve your understanding of engineering practice and obtain the 480 hours of approved engineering work experience required by Engineers Australia to be recognised as a professional engineer.
Finally, you will complete a major research project demonstrating your ability to work as a professional engineer.
