In addition to placements with clinics and hospitals, it has strong ties with the Central Coast Mariners Football Club, the Newcastle Jets Football Club and the Newcastle Knights Rugby League Club to ensure interesting and dynamic placement opportunities.
These practical skills, along with theory, will teach you proper procedures for exercise testing and prescription to improve sports performance and general health.
Additionally, Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science students are eligible to enrol in an International study, which offers them the opportunity to undertake an overseas placement to expand their knowledge and skills and apply them in an external and international context.

Most exercise and sports science courses include laboratory classes during which students will learn the practical skills needed in the profession. Students must attend 80% of all laboratory activities to pass each course successfully.
To safely and competently participate in these classes, students must have completed their First Aid & CPR qualifications by the end of their first year.
Completing the First Aid & CPR qualifications is a milestone for enrolment in EXSS2010.
Students will also be given opportunities to gain valuable work experience in the exercise and sport science industry through the second and third-year placement courses (EXSS2100 and EXSS3040).
To graduate from the program, students must complete 140 hours of suitably supervised practical work defined by Exercise and Sport Science Australia.

Admission to undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.
