In this two-year diploma program, you will learn the fundamentals of digital and analog electronics, combined with a foundation in computer technology. 

This program provides relevant hands-on laboratory work to give you the practical experience, as well as theoretical knowledge of electronic devices, computer programming and diagnostic techniques that the electronics industry values.

Throughout this program at Seneca College you will develop the following skills:

• Analyze, interpret, modify and prepare electrical and electronics drawings, layouts and reports
• Analyze and solve routine technical problems related to electronics engineering
• Troubleshoot electronic systems and perform test procedures
• Assemble, modify and test electronic circuits, equipment and systems in accordance with job requirements and standards
• Maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems following modern operational guidelines
• Analyze and test circuits by applying appropriate measurement techniques
• Analyze and troubleshoot control systems
• Apply relevant shop practices in compliance with safety policies and current regulations for electronics engineering workplaces
• Assist in implementing quality control and assurance programs

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format with some courses available in Seneca's flexible delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. 

For courses offered in the flexible delivery format, professors use innovative learning spaces and technology to teach students in a classroom or lab and broadcast in real time to students attending remotely.

Mature applicants applying to degree programs must be 19 years old by the first day of scheduled classes and have been away from high school for at least two years. 

Mature applicants must meet all program-specific prerequisite courses. Pre-admission testing is not permitted to meet degree program prerequisites.

• Minimum grades of 60% or C in program-required subjects in final year of high school

Minimum grades of 40% in all Grade 12 subjects. Must have program-required subjects in final year of high school

Additional Notes

• Grades 10 math can be considered equivalent to Grade 11 math with a minimum of 40%
• Grades 10 science cannot be considered equivalent to grade 12 biology/chemistry
