This degree at Federation University offers a regional perspective relevant to local wildlife and animal health, and will also highlight key issues of international relevance by exploring suitable examples and case studies.
Laboratory-based learning is supported by fieldwork at sites such as farming and breeding enterprises, animal health practices and natural habitats with wildlife populations.
You will study a wide range of topics including anatomy, animal health, biochemistry, cellular metabolism, immunology, microbiology, physiology and zoology.
In the final year, there is an opportunity for a research project or industry placement to explore your own area of interest and develop advanced technical skills.
Please note: - studying this program online does involve compulsory on campus laboratory sessions for some courses.
Work Integrated Learning
Domestic students may apply for the Industry Placement Program (IPP) which offers up to 26 weeks of industry based experience. IPP students receive a scholarship payment of up to $15,000.

The English and Academic Preparation (EAP) program is a non-award University accredited access and preparatory pathway program for non-English speaking international students intending to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate degree studies at Federation University Australia.
International students cannot apply directly for EAP programs, they must apply for an Undergraduate or Postgraduate program and provide their English test scores.

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with one final year course in Mathematics (any) or one final year course of either Chemistry, Biology or Physics or overseas equivalent.
Students with post-school qualifications (e.g. diplomas, advanced diplomas) may be considered for admission with advanced standing or credit (recognition of prior learning).
