Federation University has designed this degree to give your teaching career a kickstart. 

If you were disappointed in your ATAR or did not meet the subject entry requirements to begin a teaching degree, this is the course for you. 

You can use this 3-year degree in 3 ways:

If you did not meet the entry requirements to commence a teaching degree, you could start your studies with the Bachelor of Education Studies. 

After the first year, if you have maintained an excellent academic standing throughout the year, you may be eligible to apply for a transfer into the second year of a FedUni teaching degree. 

You may still qualify as a VIT(Victorian Institute of Teaching)-registered teacher within 4 years of study.

Alternatively, you may complete the three years of this degree, continue into a Master of Teaching in either Secondary, Primary or Early Childhood teaching, and qualify as a VIT registered teacher within 4.5 years.

Finally, this is a 3-year generalist degree that can prepare you for work in Learning and Education and allow you to discover more about the education system. 

This degree will qualify you to work in many roles, including as an Education Officer developing programs for a wide range of industries or as an Education Support Officer (Integration Aide) working to support students within a school setting. 

Or you may be interested in working in education policy as a project officer. Again, the opportunities for graduates are vast.

Work Integrated Learning

This program requires a total of 40 placement hours across 1 week.

• Graduation/completion certificates for any completed qualifications
• Official English language translations for all documents not in English
• Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
• Passport or visa documents (if applicable)
• Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) (if applicable)
• Syllabuses/detailed course outlines if you require a credit assessment.

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with final-year mathematics courses; or overseas equivalent.

China:

• Gao San (Senior High Year 3) (Year 12) with an average of 75% in four academic subjects. OR
• 高考Gao Kao cut-off score for Tier 2 Chinese Universities. OR
• Completion of one-year post-secondary study with at least an average score of 70% at a recognized institution.

India: 

• Completion of All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (CISCE) with an average of 60% in the best four academic subjects*.
• OR Higher Secondary Certificate with an average of 70% (for Punjab and Haryana) or 65% (for other State Boards)in the best four academic subjects*

*excludes local languages, work experience, physical education and other nonacademic subjects

Foundation Studies Program

This pre-university program is designed specifically for students to meet the requirements to enter the first year of an undergraduate degree or one of the Higher Education Diplomas.

Note: Foundation Access Studies (FAST) program is not available to international students.
