Child and Youth Care Diploma

Prepare to support children, youth, families, and communities. 

This program at Bow Valley College provides opportunities to explore unique and specialized areas including diversity, advocacy, mental health, policy, trauma-informed and reflective practice within the Child and Youth Care field. 

Through hands on experiences such as research projects and practicums, you will learn to integrate the Child and Youth Care Competencies into your professional practice.

Graduates of the Child and Youth Care program will work with children, youth, and families in a variety of settings

Some of these include residential settings such as group homes, shelters, or treatment centres, community programs such as drop-in centres, summer camps, or parent centres.

The International English Language Learning program offers five levels. Each level costs approximately $4,959 per semester. 

Your initial level placement can be determined by submitting a valid English language proficiency exam result (IELTS Academic, Duolingo, TOEFL, or Pearson PTE). 

The level placement will be based on the lowest band score of the official English proficiency exam result.

Students who successfully complete Academic English 2 with a grade of “B-” or higher meet the language proficiency requirements for most Bow Valley College, SAIT, and other post-secondary programs.
