Overview

Bachelor of Arts (Archaeology and History)

Archaeology:

Archaeology can shed light on some of the most intriguing issues regarding our human past: the colonisation of the New World, migration out of Africa, Old World globalisation and human-environment interaction.

Opportunities for hands-on archaeological training, including field methods, laboratory analysis and project design.

History:

As a discipline that intersects across the humanities and social sciences, History will enable you to develop skills in research, critical analysis and methodology, persuasive argument, and communication and written expression.

At the University of Southern Queensland, you will explore evidence from the past and our contemporary times to investigate the origins of fundamental issues relevant to us today.

Issues include race relations, slavery, revolutions, nationalism, women’s experience, culture and ethnicity, social movements, globalisation, politics, war and genocide, and historiography.
