Overview

Bachelor of Engineering Science - Software Engineering

This course at UTS is an engineering technologist-level program similar to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) but does not provide full professional engineering status.

Software engineers focus on large, complex, and critical software systems that are ubiquitously connected to our daily lives.

In this major, you will learn about software design, analysis, and management to ensure safe, reliable, secure, and maintainable systems. It goes beyond programming.

You will develop skills to identify issues with existing systems and create new possibilities with the application of software design.

Career opportunities in software engineering can be found in almost every large organisation across industry sectors, including:

Medical, transport, aviation, defence, telecommunications, banking and finance, and tertiary research and development.

Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.

Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
