Overview

Master of Urban Planning

As we adapt to global changes that impact our cities, including climate change and deepening inequality, concerns for community health and safety, and the emergence of global city regions, planning has never been more critical.

The Master of Urban Planning is a professional degree focusing on Australian and international policy and planning pertaining to human settlements and how we cope with challenging population and environmental issues.

Because practising planners work closely with other disciplines, this interdisciplinary approach to teaching will prepare you to work effectively and collaboratively in the industry.

Develop expertise in an area of specialisation to prepare yourself for a focused career.

As well as core courses, electives and a research thesis, you will complete four courses in one of the following areas:

  • International Development and Planning
  • Transport
  • Social Planning
  • Environment
  • Property
  • Bushfire Planning
  • Analytic Methods
