Master of Global Studies

This future-focused degree gives you the flexibility to design your studies in order to pursue emerging and cross-sector job opportunities, including in international development, security, humanitarian emergencies and sustainability.

Master of Global Studies graduates will gain advanced knowledge and skills through engagement with diverse organizations, communities, and thought leaders. 

They will be equipped to lead teams, inform strategic decision-making, and make a significant impact across various industries and communities.

The Master of Global Studies degree at RMIT University is designed to equip students with core skills in response to the needs of communities and organizations, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

It emphasizes the development, adaptation, and utilization of new approaches and technologies to address global challenges and make progress towards the SDGs.

Throughout your studies, you will select to focus from four specialist streams allowing you to elevate your expertise and set the course for your career.

You will develop analytical, communication and management skills that will enable you to work with a wide range of organisations.

You will be able to interpret issues, confidently lead others, and provide informed insights into future directions of policy and practice on a variety of levels in public and private spheres. 

You will have the opportunity to undertake short on-campus intensives, as well as overseas study tours.

Academic background and requirement

You must have the following: 

  • Successfully completed an Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent overseas qualification),
