Academic background and requirement

All applicants must meet the university's Quantitative and Analytical Skills requirements.

All students must present one of the following grades:

  • A minimum grade of C-/60% in a junior or senior level acceptable Math course
  • A minimum score of 3 in IB Mathematics (HL/SL), Mathematics Analysis and Approaches (HL/SL), Mathematics Applications or Interpretations (HL/SL) or Math Studies (SL)
  • A minimum D grade in GCE A or AS level math; or a minimum C- grade in GCSE O-level math

NOTE: a minimum grade of 70% is required in one of the acceptable Math courses used for admission in order to enrol directly in Q courses.

GRADE 11 REQUIREMENTS

Students must complete a minimum of 5 approved Grade 11 courses, including: 

  • English 11 or equivalent - Language 11 or equivalent - Math 11, at least one of the Foundations of Math 11 Pre-Calculus 11
  • Science 11, at least one of Chemistry 11 Earth Sciences 11 Environmental Science 11 Life Sciences 11 (Biology 11) Physics 11 Specialized Science 12
  • Social Studies 11, at least one of Explorations in Social Studies 11 Francophone History 11 Approved Social Studies 12 course - + any additional non-required, approved courses Any Arts Education 11 courses Engineering 11

GRADE 12 REQUIREMENTS 

Students must complete a minimum of 5 approved Grade 12 courses, including

India

  • You need a minimum of 50% in Standard XII level Math for admission (based on a 35% pass scale).
  • All India Senior School Certificate / Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) / India School Certificate (12 years)

 

China

  • You need a minimum of 70% in Senior Year 2 or Senior Year 3 Mathematics for admission (based on a 60% pass scale).

 GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Senior Middle School Graduation Diploma

  • Submit transcript which includes grades for all courses completed and final grades for the first semester of Senior Year 3. Admission is calculated on Senior Year 3 academic subjects.

GaoKao Exam

  • Offers of admission are conditional upon receipt of the GaoKao results in July. The required results will depend on the program. If you are following an IB curriculum or completing GCE A-Levels, you do not need to submit GaoKao results.
