Biology in the 21st century is among the most diverse and exciting of the sciences.
Many of the challenges we face as a society, from climate change to the development of novel health therapies, involve biological solutions.
As a Carleton University Biology student, you will gain broad experience through core science courses and options that suit your individual interests and needs.
You may choose to specialize in one of five concentrations: Biodiversity, Natural History and Conservation Science; Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour; Health Science; Molecular and Cellular Biology; or Physiology.
You will also have extensive opportunities to learn in lab-based environments.

Students with scores shown in Table below may be admitted with an English as a Second Language Requirement (ESLR).
When they first start in their program, these students will be required to take our ESL Foundation courses along with a limited number of courses from their degree program.
This admission with an ESLR allows students to earn academic credits from degree courses taken while completing the English requirements.
