To become a veterinarian, you can major in Veterinary BioSciences.
The major in Veterinary BioSciences will give you one year of advanced standing so that you can work your way to becoming a vet in 6 years instead of 7.
If successfully secure a place in this pathway major, your final year of the Bachelor of Science will double up as your first year in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
The Veterinary BioSciences major is only available to students who have received a provisional offer for a place in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In this major, you will develop a holistic view of what impacts the health of domestic and production animals whilst gaining the foundation to diagnose illnesses in animals and handle them with care.
Work-integrated learning forms part of the learning experience, where you’ll be allowed to visit animal enterprises such as animal shelters, veterinary hospitals and various farms.

3- Packaged offers
The packaged offer requires you to complete a 10 or 20-week course at Hawthorn-Melbourne (depending on your IELTS score) before commencing your undergraduate degree.

Units 3 & 4: A study score of at least 25 in English/English Language/ Literature or at least 30 in EAL, and at least 25 in Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics, and in one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics; OR
A study score of at least 25 in English/English. Language/Literature or at least 30 in EAL, and at least 25 in both Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics.

Pre-requisites:

As a guide, a minimum average of 70% or equivalent is required for entry based on a study completed at the university level.
You can satisfy subject prerequisites by taking some studies or tests through the University of Melbourne's Community Access Program (CAP).
